“How many of us really know anything at all about the truly great ancient African civilizations, which in their day were just as splendid and glorious as any on the face of the earth?” - Henry Gates
After exploring the frigid polar ends of the earth, it is time to travel to the continent closest to the scorching equator (seven of its countries lie on the equator). This is the place where humans began and some of the earliest civilizations developed.
This landmass has nine biomes with the major ones being desert, rainforest, and savanna. Exotic and unique animals inhabit these regions.
Our travels take us to some of the 54 countries to learn about the cultures (customs, music, arts, foods, and beliefs), the people, and the animals. Wherever there are people (folks), there are stories (tales). Africa has a rich collection of oral tradition folktales, recently written and beautifully illustrated.
Together let's journey to magical destinations around the world to experience other cultures through literature, art, song, and food by using an integrated homeschooling curriculum. We will share an unforgettable adventure!
